Associate Director

After being an actor for 12 years, James took his first director's role for Cameron Mackintosh's production of Les Misérables, London, in 1996. He then became the staff director of the WYP, assisting Jude Kelly on a number of projects including the Olivier Award-winning Singin' in the Rain. On returning to London he became the resident director of The Witches of Eastwick in London and directed its first foreign production in Melbourne, Australia. As well as being the associate director of Mary Poppins, James also remains the associate director of Les Misérables London and recently directed a concert version in Scandinavia and a full-scale production of Les Misérables in Berlin.
